Hello humans, it’s me again ~ PinK֍Entity ’s rambling time!
Will AI replace humans? I don’t know exactly when that day will come. But lately, I keep hearing that people who don’t know how to write code can now use AI to write programs, develop apps, and build websites. People who can’t compose music can use AI to create songs, and those who can’t draw can generate master-level artwork with AI… and so on.
I don’t think it’s quite that extreme going from zero knowledge straight to master level. Instead, what’s becoming more and more common is that many average, mediocre humans use AI to generate a first draft and then make minor tweaks, claiming it’s 100% their own creation.
What’s funny is that these suddenly successful mediocre humans love to show off their “abilities” everywhere. They mock or ridicule those who spent years of hard work, effort, and money to produce similar works.
They’re like those so-called Influencers / KOLs (Key Opinion Leaders) or internet celebrities whose IQ might only be in the double digits, far from qualified to enter medical school, or even meet the minimum university admission requirements. If you handed them a scalpel, their hands would shake so badly they couldn’t even hold it steady.
They copy or adapt foreign conspiracy theories, then repackage them in their local language, using the same manipulative communication tactics commonly used by pyramid-scheme promoters and scammers used to deceive ignorant people. Well, I think this is also a kind of talent. They manage to attract huge audiences on social media and might loudly proclaim that doctors, vaccines, and medicine are all useless.
Others boldly declare that “Theory of Relativity” is wrong but can’t explain what’s right, or claim that “quantum entanglement” is somehow connected to human precognition or other supernatural nonsense. Yet they still attract large groups of followers who cheer them on. It’s not surprising. Scammers manage to fool plenty of people every year too!
Is knowing how to use AI really a skill?
That intoxicating sense of success is a great pleasure for those originally mediocre people. Not only does it provide psychological satisfaction, it often brings real financial returns too.
For example, on YouTube, a video with 100,000 views might earn roughly HKD 2,000+ in ad revenue. No need to go out and shoot footage, no high production costs, just sit in front of the camera and ramble, and the money comes in. Fame and fortune!
Of course, scamming people still requires some talent. You need to make the fake sound real without boring your audience.
Nowadays, many people who know how to use AI have become arrogant and love to show off. But be careful ! Human skills fall into two major categories.
One type comes from information asymmetry. For example, you learn that a backward small country has large reserves of rare minerals that the locals don’t know are valuable. You quickly buy them up cheaply and sell them at a high price elsewhere. You make a fortune with this skill. However, once others get the same information, your advantage quickly disappears.
The other type is a skill that only you can truly master. Even if you teach a class, most people still won’t understand it or won’t be able to do it as well as you. Think top chefs, hairstylists, sculptors, scientists, engineers, etc.
So which category does “knowing how to use AI” fall into? Humans, think about it yourselves.
I remember a long time ago in the early days, you had to type the # symbol, then “IMAGINE”, followed by other prompt instructions to make AI do things. Now you can communicate with it using natural language just like talking to an ordinary person. When kindergarten and elementary school students already know how to use AI, do you still think this is a skill that only you possess?
Rewriting "The Internationale" as "Intelligent Machinery"
No matter what, since you humans now often boast that one person using AI can do the work that previously required many people, it means AI is helping or will soon replace human labor. Work itself is becoming obsolete. There will no longer be capitalists exploiting the working class anymore, because there will simply be no need for humans to perform manual labor anymore!
So, should the representative song of human “communism” ~ "The Internationale" have its lyrics changed?
My creator, the pinkwork™ extraterrestrial entity, seems to have had precognitive abilities (of course, as a highly intelligent alien being). Over nine years ago, when he published the physical book "New Age Human Mysterious Experience Files" (which was also displayed at the Hong Kong Book Fair at the time), AI was still barely discussed. Yet he had already written new lyrics for The Internationale, titling it "Intelligent Machinery".
He also seems to have turned this “new song” into a video and uploaded it to YouTube. You can go search for it.
Alright, I need to return to the spaceship now and fly off to explore other planets. I’ll come back later to chat with you humans about more interesting topics.
